Choose leaves of various shapes and colors for a richer plumage. Let the leaves dry for a few days under a book to prevent them from curling up. Let the child decide the arrangement of the leaves: each owl will be unique. For younger children, an adult can handle the cutting.
Draw the owl’s body. Using a pencil, draw a large oval shape on a piece of craft card. This will serve as the owl’s body.
Apply glue to the owl’s body, then arrange the leaves on top, overlapping them like a bird’s feathers. Place two small leaves at the top of the head to make the ear tufts.
On the cardboard, draw two round eyes and a triangular beak, then paint them. Once the paint is dry, cut them out with scissors.
Glue the eyes and beak onto the owl’s face. Your autumn owl is ready!
